i finally exist at my new workplace - hurrah! who is that come-hither geek grrl?
very excited for tomorrow's birthday / thanksgiving extravaganza. in honor of my aging, the mom agreed to make a very tiny turkey and a big-ass ham, complete with paska bread and boulbiki with honey. i plan to starve myself after 5pm today so that i can totally appreciate tomorrow's bounty.
have i mentioned that i love my new job? love it. love it! i don't know how i managed to spend 15 months at the other place. i liked the people there, but there was something disturbing about all of the manager-hopping and politics and rumors, etc. much better here. was able to do actual work on my very first day, and am already completely immersed and feeling like i am making a positive contribution. plus, there are dogs and free snacks...
my teeth hurt! i've managed to avoid the dentist for the last 5 years, but i can no longer ignore the slow painful eruption of my wisdom teeth; checkup next week with surgery to quickly follow. painkilling drugs are a plus, i suppose, but dreading swollen face and bleeding gums.
